The Tiny Desk meme is a roughly 19-second piece of Charlie Wilson's 2023 NPR Tiny Desk concert, edited with AI so someone new sings "Outstanding" with the band. It kicked off with losing football coaches on TikTok in October 2026 and quickly spread to teams, offices and friend groups.
Where the clip comes from
Charlie Wilson fronted The Gap Band, and "Outstanding" is among their signature songs. At his 2023 Tiny Desk he saved it for last: the band settles into the groove, he bursts into a laugh in close-up, the sax takes over, and the whole room sings it home. That final stretch is the meme clip.
