Tiny Desk AI free: what actually works?
Updated October 27, 2026
Quick answer: none of the generators we checked renders the full Tiny Desk AI meme for free. Face swaps run on paid video models, so a first video costs roughly $9 to $15 anywhere. Below: what free routes can do, and how paid tools stack up.
What the free options can and can't do
| Option | Can | Can't |
|---|---|---|
| CapCut templates | Free cuts and song inside the app | Render a face into the performance; you can only layer photos or effects on top |
| Free credits on AI video apps | Some AI video apps hand out signup credits that cover one shot | Rarely enough for all four shots at a decent resolution, and you still edit and add the song yourself |
| Doing it yourself | Total control using any AI video model with a reference mode | Be free: renders still cost money, plus about an hour of editing |

Where FaceRiff differs, and where it doesn't
- $9.88 covers any 1 to 5 people at 720p and swaps the whole person (face, hair and outfit from the photo). Others charge $9.90 to $9.99 for a first video, often at 480p, with fewer seats or face-only swaps
- The 3-video pack drops the price to $8.29 per video, and credits never expire
- No 1080p and no free trial, and a free account is required before paying

Free and pricing questions
Is Tiny Desk AI free anywhere?
Not for the full video. Every face swap uses a paid AI video model, so the generators we checked charge about $9 to $15 for a first video. FaceRiff costs $9.88, the same for 1 to 5 people.
Can CapCut make the Tiny Desk meme for free?
CapCut gives you the cuts and song free, but it won't render your face into the performance. That part needs an AI video model.
Why is there no free trial?
Every video runs on a paid AI model. Instead of a watermarked trial, failed renders refund automatically and unused packs can be refunded within 14 days.
What's the best Tiny Desk AI generator?
Depends on your cast size. For one lead singer most tools are fine; for a full staff or roster, choose one that recasts all five seats at no extra cost. FaceRiff does any 1 to 5 at 720p for $9.88.
Cheapest way to make several videos?
Grab a pack: 3 videos for $24.88 or 10 videos for $59.88. Credits don't expire, so save some for next weekend.
